Daphnia

These are the daphnias we are using for our reservoir prototype. The will be eating macroalgae and cynobactria. They also help with the HAB control. When they are in the daphnia cage, they won't be able to leave through the holes on the netting. That means that the eggs they'll eventually lay can stay there until they hatch.

How to Take Care of Daphnia

In order to take care of daphnia you have to have a supply of yeast mixture. To make that you have to get a cup or a liter bottle, depends on how big the container or cup of daphnia you have. Then, mix yeast with the water until it seems like a milky color. Don't add too much yeast at once, add little by little. Then add a few drops of the creamy mixture into your daphnia culture everyday.
