Prototypes
Prototype #1
This is our first milfoil prototype. It was made out of pvc pipes, fish netting, zip ties, water bottles, and pvc glue. The main purpose of the prototype was to feed the three baby tilapias we had in here milfoil. There was a piece of the pipe inside of the prototype because that would keep the weight down.
This is the second prototype of our tilapia containment system. We used pvc pipes, different pvc joints, zip ties, and netting. The difference between the first and second prototype is that in this prototype there is an aquaponics part, and we were able to feed the tilapias not just milfoil.
Prototype #2
This is our reservoir prototype or prototype #3. It is a larger scale of the second model, it's 4ft by 4ft. There is also a daphnia cage on the outside where we'll be able to do data with them. On the outer cage there will be the solar panel that provide the air filtration system, which is the oxygen for the fish. We put different plants on the aquaponics part for the nutrients. Here we'll be able to feed the tilapia and take them out once the water starts getting colder in the winter.
